Guess what? Mom and Dad couldn't resist the coaching bug, and we're back for another round in the Fall 2023 season! Because hey, sitting on the sidelines for a casual game? Not in our playbook. Things got a bit tricky this year with separate divisions, and some of our favorite girls couldn't join us. So, we asked Stormee if she was up for a challenge, playing a grade up, breaking the norm! And guess what? Carry-over teams are in, so some of our crew is also set for Spring 2024!
This time, David and I got to do the draft and let me tell you, it was an adventure! Grandma, hats off to you for doing it solo last season.
We stuck with the color red, but the girls ditched the typical mascot for something fierce ā Queen of Hearts! With 7 awesome players, including some first-time athletes, we kicked off slow, building skills rather than chasing points. Fundamentals over the scoreboard, because, spoiler alert, we're gearing up to be a powerhouse team next season!
The Queen of Hearts faced challenges all season, Stormee included, but the improvement was real! From the first court appearance to the final exit, these girls owned it. The highlight of the season? A team trip to see the Harding University Bisons play! Sideline commentary, team bonding, and loads of fun. Go Queens, rocking it until Spring 2024! šøššŖ
Coach Tip: If you're a coach near a college or minor/major league team, organize a field trip! The energy and team bonding are off the charts!
